convert.exe. What is it?

This file is part of Microsoft® Windows® Operating System. Convert.exe is developed by Microsoft Corporation. It’s a system and hidden file. Convert.exe is usually located in the %WINDOWS% sub-folder and its usual size is 13,824 bytes.

As convert.exe is an important system file mainly used for file format conversion of FAT32 to NTFS, it should not be deleted in anyway. However it is a save process file and does not cause any critical effect with the operating system.

Is convert.exe dangerous?
Although convert.exe plays vital role for partition conversion, if terminated, it is not dangerous for the system at all. Sometimes running the process takes extra long time, in such case try to complete the process.

Before making any conversion, we strongly recommend to take proper backup of desired drive.
