If you encounter errors that are slowing down Outlook, the add-ins might play a part in the blame. In such situations, you may have to disable all add-ins and plugins or identify the problematic one and disable it.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, since you may never use some of these plugins, they become outdated, causing compatibility issues that consequently cause Outlook to freeze, crash or refuse to launch.<\/p>\n<p>This tutorial teaches you how to enable, disable and remove Microsoft Outlook add-ins and plugins.<\/p>\n<h2>Where Do You Find Add-Ins in Outlook?<\/h2>\n<p>Microsoft Outlook comes pre-installed with several add-ins, although they are not activated by default. There are a number of methods you can use to start Outlook in Safe Mode. This will depend on the version of Windows and Outlook that you&#8217;re running. The following are general methods that apply across all versions.<\/p>\n<h3>Method 1: Using the CTRL Key<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click the Outlook icon on your taskbar or from the Start menu. You can now use Outlook with all the add-ins disabled.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Turn Off Plugins and Add-Ins in Microsoft Outlook Individually<\/h2>\n<p>You may have a good idea of which add-in or plugin is causing issues in Outlook. For instance, if the error started immediately after installing a program, then you\u2019ll automatically know that the add-ins of that particular software are the problem.<\/p>\n<h3>If that\u2019s the case, here\u2019s what you need to do:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Click \u201cFile\u201d in Outlook, and then select \u201cOptions\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Select the \u201cAdd-ins\u201d segment, and ensure that \u201cCOM Add-ins\u201d is selected in the \u201cManage:\u201d dropdown list at the bottom of the page.<\/li>\n<li>Click the \u201cGo\u201d button.<\/li>\n<li>Here, you\u2019ll see a list of add-ins installed in Outlook.
