Moreover, you tried to troubleshoot the issue, but the operating system is adamant that there is no fix, and you get this message: \u2019audio services not responding\u2019. This can be very frustrating, so we advise you to use our guide and fix the problem without any external help.<\/p>\n<h3>There are many reasons why the audio services have failed you, some of the most common ones are:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows Audio services are running incorrectly<\/li>\n<li>an outdated audio driver<\/li>\n<li>a damaged audio driver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are our five fixes, and if the first method doesn\u2019t help, try the next. They are listed from the least invasive ones to the most time-consuming.<\/p>\n<h2>Fix 1. Use Windows troubleshooter.<\/h2>\n<p>This will allow you to solve the issue.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Step 1. Use the control panel to open the search box and type in \u2018troubleshooting\u2019. This will take you to the results where you have to choose \u201cTroubleshooting\u201d and then pick \u201cHardware and Sound\u201d out of all the variants.<\/li>\n<li>Step 2. The Hardware and Sound pad will open with options for the \u201cSound\u201d and \u201cDevice\u201d. You need to select \u201cPlaying Audio\u201d inside the sub-category.<\/li>\n<li>Step 3. You have to click \u201cFind and fix problems with playing sound\u201d and in the Advanced Options, select the box that states \u201cApply repairs automatically\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Step 4. Click \u201cNext\u201d, this will take you to the automatic diagnostics that the Troubleshooter will execute.<\/li>\n<li>Step 5. When asked to \u2018click Apply this fix and Reboot\u2019, agree. Setup Windows Audio services.<\/h2>\n<p>This process is easy enough and Windows will guide you through it, but we have specified the instructions for you.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Step 1. Press Windows key and the letter \u201cR\u201d on your keyboard. In the \u201crun\u201d pop-up window, type in \u201cservices.msc\u201d and hit Enter to run the program.<\/li>\n<li>Step 2. In the dropdown list, find the following services:\n<ul>\n<li>Windows Audio<\/li>\n<li>Windows Audio Endpoint Builder<\/li>\n<li>Plug and play<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Step 3. One by one, open them and make sure that they are set to Automatic in their Startup Type. You will see the status in the column marked \u201cStartup Type\u201d. All three should say \u2018Automatic\u2019 and \u2018Running\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Step 4. Double click on the Name of the service and in the menu, select \u201cRestart\u201d. The settings should comply with the ones you need, otherwise proceed to Step 5.<\/li>\n<li>Step 5. Choose the corresponding service and double-click the line. Inside the properties window, set them to &#8216;Automatic&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li>Step 6. Check that the service status is \u2018Running\u2019. Select \u201cOK\u201d to save the settings.<\/li>\n<li>Step 7. Restart your computer to apply the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Fix 3. Modify Windows Audio components.<\/h2>\n<p>This fix is a more advanced tweak in the Windows audio properties. To apply the changes, you need to follow the steps.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Step 1. Access the RUN menu and open \u2018services.msc\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Step 2. Double-click on the properties.<\/li>\n<li>Step 3. Select \u201cDependencies\u2019 in the tab menu. Here you will get a list of all the components what the service depends on. Expand it (press the + sign).<\/li>\n<li>Step 4. Make sure that all of the components are marked as \u201cRunning\u201d in the Status column.<\/li>\n<li>Step 6. By right-clicking on each of the components, access the menu and select \u201cRestart\u201d for all of them.<\/li>\n<li>Step 7. Reboot your computer to apply the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Fix 4. Update the audio driver.<\/h2>\n<p>Essentially, what the driver does is provide a link between the software and the hardware parts of your computer. Software requirements are different from hardware specifications and sometimes they don\u2019t exactly match. The driver acts as a translator of sorts, mediating between the two.
