The good news is that fixing this issue is simple and this post shows you a proven approach on what to do.<\/p>\n

How to fix \u2018Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible\u2019 on Windows 10?<\/h2>\n

All the settings you configure in Firefox, such as the home page, the toolbars, saved passwords and bookmarks, are stored in a folder called a profile. The profile folder is stored separately from the Firefox browser to protect your information in case the program crashes.<\/p>\n

This makes it possible to uninstall Firefox without fear of losing your settings. The default location of the profile folder is found in the %APPDATA%\\Mozilla\\Firefox\\Profiles folder. When you come across the \u2018Your Firefox profile can’t be loaded\u2019 error message, try one of the following fixes.<\/p>\n

Fix 1: Create a new profile<\/h2>\n

If Firefox can’t access the profile folder because you deleted it, you can create a new folder, using the Profile Manager, and restore all the previous data stored on your profile. You will require your Firefox account email and password to make these changes.<\/p>\n

When Firefox is closed:<\/h3>\n

  1. Press the Windows Key, and then type firefox.exe -P.<\/li>\n
  2. Hit \u201cEnter\u201d to open the Profile Manager (Choose User Profile) window. If the Profile Manager window does not open, try to type in the full path to the Firefox application enclosed with quotes. That is, “C:\\Program Files\\Mozilla Firefox\\firefox.exe” -P.<\/li>\n
  3. Choose the \u201cCreate Profile\u201d option to open \u201cCreate Profile Wizard\u201d.<\/li>\n
  4. Click \u201cNext\u201d and fill in the name of the new profile you’re creating under \u201cEnter a new profile name\u201d.<\/li>\n
  5. Click \u201cFinish\u201d. This takes you back to the \u201cChoose User Profile\u201d window, where you can either choose to exit the Profile Manager or start Firefox.<\/li>\n
  6. To finish the setup, click the \u201cStart Firefox\u201d button to launch the browser. Open the menu, which is located at the top-right corner, and click \u201cSign in to Sync\u201d.<\/li>\n
  7. Fill in your details to get the program running with all your Firefox profile data loaded.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    When Firefox is open:<\/h3>\n

    1. Type \u201cabout:profiles\u201d into Firefox\u2019s address bar.<\/li>\n

    3. Follow Step 4 in the section above. The new profile you just created will be listed in the Profile Manager.<\/li>\n

      Fix 2: Delete the profiles.ini file<\/h2>\n

      If you have difficulties accessing the Profile Manager, deleting the profiles.ini file allows you to create a new default Firefox profile.<\/p>\n

      Follow these steps:<\/p>\n

      1. Open the \u201cStart\u201d menu and type %appdata%.<\/li>\n
      2. Select the first result to open the \u201cAppData\\Roaming\u201d folder.<\/li>\n
      3. Double-click the Mozilla folder to open it.<\/li>\n
      4. Double-click the folder named \u201cFirefox\u201d.<\/li>\n
      5. Delete the \u201cprofiles.ini\u201d file. Alternatively, you can choose to rename it to something like \u201cprofiles.iniOLD\u201d.<\/li>\n
      6. When you launch Firefox, it creates a new profile.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Fix 3: If you renamed or moved your Firefox profile folder<\/h2>\n
