Hyperlinks in Excel are automatically created when you insert a URL or an email id.<\/p>\n<p>While Excel&#8217;s hyperlinks are helpful when you want to open a specific page in your browser, to access a new file in the same spreadsheet or to link to a different spreadsheet in the same workbook, some users find this feature frustrating. If you have multiple hyperlinks, removing them manually could be exhausting.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s article covers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How to find all the hyperlinks in Excel<\/li>\n<li>How to remove all hyperlinks in Excel<\/li>\n<li>How to turn off automatic hyperlinks in Excel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to find all the hyperlinks in Excel<\/h2>\n<p>To quickly find all the hyperlinks in your spreadsheet or the entire workbook with a list of cells that have it, use the Find and Replace feature.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open your spreadsheet, and click Home.<\/li>\n<li>Go to Editing &gt; Find &amp; Select &gt; Replace. (Alternatively, press CTRL + H).<\/li>\n<li>Within the Find and Replace dialogue box, click Replace &gt; Options.<\/li>\n<li>Click the \u201cFormat\u201d button, next to \u201cFind what\u201d text box to open a dropdown list.<\/li>\n<li>Select the \u201cChoose Format From Cell\u201d option.<\/li>\n<li>Select all the cells that have hyperlinks. This populates the \u201cPreview\u201d pane with the hyperlink format, next to the \u201cFormat\u201d button.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cFind All\u201d to show a list of all the cells with hyperlinks.<\/li>\n<li>You can now select each link manually or use the CTRL key to select multiple cells.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>How to remove all hyperlinks in Excel<\/h2>\n<p>Whether you\u2019ve received a spreadsheet that has unnecessary links or you no longer want the links that you added, there are various ways to remove all the hyperlinks with ease.<\/p>\n<h3>Method 1: Delete all hyperlinks by choosing all the cells<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Select your entire worksheet by clicking the tilted triangle at the top left corner of your spreadsheet. (Or, simply press CTRL + A).<\/li>\n<li>Right-click anywhere in your worksheet, and select \u201cRemove Hyperlinks.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>This easy step clears all the hyperlinks from your spreadsheet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Method 2: Remove hyperlinks using Paste Special<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Select all the cells that you want to unlink. Press and hold the CTRL Key when selecting multiple cells.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click within the spreadsheet, and select \u201cCopy.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Now, select a blank cell and right-click on it.<\/li>\n<li>Click the \u201cPaste Special\u201d option to open the Paste Special dialogue box.<\/li>\n<li>Select the \u201cValues\u201d option, and click OK.<\/li>\n<li>This pastes the texts without the hyperlinks.<\/li>\n<li>Delete the original cells containing the hyperlinks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Method 3: Delete hyperlinks using the Find and Replace feature<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to Home &gt; Editing &gt; Find &amp; Replace &gt; Find. This action shows the \u201cPreview\u201d pane with the hyperlink format.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cFind All\u201d to list all the cells with hyperlinks in Excel.<\/li>\n<li>To select all the hyperlinks, press CTRL + A.<\/li>\n<li>To select specific hyperlinks, use the CTRL Key.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click on the highlighted cells, and click \u201cRemove Hyperlinks.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Method 4: How to remove hyperlinks with specific text<\/h3>\n<p>Suppose you have a dataset of companies which were accidentally linked more than once. Say, you want to remove the hyperlink with the text Company 2, here are the steps to follow:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Use shortcut keys CTRL + F to open the Find and Replace dialogue box.<\/li>\n<li>Click the \u201cOptions\u201d button.<\/li>\n<li>Type Company 2 in the \u201cFind what\u201d text box.<\/li>\n<li>Select \u201cChoose Format From Cell\u201d from the dropdown menu by clicking the \u201cFormat\u201d button.<\/li>\n<li>Select the cell with Company 2. This shows the \u201cPreview\u201d pane with the hyperlink format.<\/li>\n<li>Now, click \u201cFind All\u201d to display all the hyperlinks associated with Company 2.<\/li>\n<li>If you want to erase specific cells with hyperlinks, hold the CTRL Key and click on the hyperlinks you intend to delete.<\/li>\n<li>To select all the hyperlinks, press CTRL + A.<\/li>\n<li>To remove the selected hyperlinks, right-click on one of the highlighted cells and select \u201cRemove Hyperlinks.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>How to turn off automatic hyperlinks in Excel<\/h2>\n<p>If you find it inconvenient for Excel to automatically create hyperlinks, you can turn the hyperlink function off.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open File &gt; Options &gt; Proofing &gt; AutoCorrect Options.<\/li>\n<li>In the AutoCorrect dialogue box, click the \u201cAutoFormat As You Type\u201d tab.<\/li>\n<li>Unmark the box next to \u201cInternet and network paths with hyperlinks.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Click OK.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>That\u2019s it.
